Mr. Afzal Delbar is the Managing Director of Silver Line Services Ltd, an International Freight Forwarding Company. (www.silverlineservices.com)

The organisation has offices in 23 countries, offering one-stop-shop services across the logistics and supply chain sectors.

Mr. Afzal Delbar is a licensed Customs House Broker and currently serves as the President of the Customs House Brokers Association (CHBA)www.customshousebrokers.com.

He is an international speaker who regularly addresses topics related to trade practices and serves as a motivational figure for entrepreneurship.

As President of the CHBA, Mr. Delbar has been deeply involved in customs reform initiatives aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business and ensuring a competitive edge. He also contributed to the implementation of the Cargo Community System, an IT platform designed to manage and secure the movement of goods.

Mr. Delbar has played an active role in regional and international trade and has participated in the implementation of trade protocols, particularly in the areas of rules of origin and trade facilitation.

In recognition of his contribution to global trade facilitation, the World Customs Organization awarded him the Certificate of Merit in 2016.

From 2015 to 2017, he also served as Chairman of the Port Users’ Council.

He has also served as President of the Mauritius Sailors’ Home Society from 2019 to 2024.

He is also an elected Executive Committee Member of the Federation of Clearing and Forwarding Agents Sovereign Africa (FCFASA)www.fcfasa.org.

Mr. Delbar served as President of FCFASA from 2016 to 2020 and continues to play an important role at the Africa level in facilitating cross-border trade and business operations.

TeAdditionally, Mr. Delbar is the Secretary General of the Freeport Operators Association, an organization that brings together Freeport Licensees with the goal of enhancing the Freeport sector and positioning Mauritius as a major regional trading hub – www.freeportoperators.com.

In this capacity, he has worked tirelessly to promote Mauritius as a regional distribution hub, thereby strengthening port activities. He has participated in numerous trade missions to attract foreign investors to establish operations in Port Louis, including visits to Dubai, Turkey, Mozambique, India, and other countries.

Mr. Delbar is the founder and creator of Freight Academy, a pioneering institution offering vocational and professional training in the logistics and supply chain sector – www.freightacademy.com.

Freight Academy has played a crucial role in capacity building and fostering a common understanding within the logistics industry.

Mr. Delbar is a director and shareholder in several companies engaged in logistics, Freeport operations, property development, and agriculture.

He is also a Director and Board Member of the Mauritius Cargo Community Services (MACCS), an organization established by the Government of Mauritius to manage and secure the logistics supply chain in real time through a digital platform – www.maccs.mu.

Mr. Delbar was conferred the “Business Super Achiever Award” at the Africa Leadership Awards during the Africa–India Partnership Summit in Mauritius.

The award recognizes outstanding professionals who demonstrate vision, flair, acumen, and professionalism in leadership and management, driving meaningful organizational change and achieving measurable results.

On 10th December 2014, Mr. Delbar received another Africa Leadership Award for the “Promotion of a Trade Body.

Furthermore, Mr. Delbar is an active member of several national and international business organizations, including MCCI, Business Mauritius, Mauritius Export Association, FIATA, IFCBA, and FCFASA.
